Introduction

The Nahr el Bared Emergency & Recovery Information System is an online platform aiming at consolidating and centralizing all resources and information regarding aid provision to the Nahr el Bared's affected population in North Lebanon. The platform has a multi-layer categorization system, that allows ease of access and is customized to help the users locate information they need in an efficient manner.

Shelter/WatSan Cluster Meeting Minutes (22 July 2010)

MG provided the following UNRWA updates:

The Old Camp:
Reconstruction in package 1 is ongoing.
Package 2: UNRWA issued the order to start on August 19 in the lower part (1st part) that was cleared by the Army.
Infrastructure of Packages 1, 2, A0 and UNRWA Compound are under tendering.

Schools:
Reconstruction in 3 schools is ongoing and there are 4 contractors working in the schools.

MG briefed the cluster on UNRWA updates as follows:
The old camp:
Reconstruction in package 1 is ongoing. There is a delay in the process of work by the contractors due to lack of resources, delay is not justified.
Package 2: clearance from army received, UNRWA is working on getting DGA clearance, letter of acceptance is issued to contractor, and contract signing is under processing.

Schools:
Contracts for reconstruction of 3 schools already signed,

Infrastructure in the Adjacent Area:
Package 1, 2, Ao and UNRWA compound will put into Tender before the end of June.

MG briefed the cluster on UNRWA updates as follows:
The old camp:
Reconstruction in package 1 is ongoing. There was a delay due to the delay on the commencement date and it is agreed with the contractor to start working with 2 shifts to overcome the delay in the schedule.
The 1st set of houses in Package 1(163 units) will be finished and handed to the families in August.
Subsurface survey and the antiquities survey are expected to be finished at the end of March in Package 2.

NRC sent the executive summary of the report of the assessment done in the gathering.
NRC set a meeting with PC to give details on the internal emergency rehabilitation activity last week.
PC raised the issue of delay of reconstruction of recently opened Prime Areas to Beirut level and they are following it up.

The reconstruction work is ongoing in package 1 and 2.
Rubble removal in Package 2 is expected to be completed today.

LM didn’t attend the meeting. It is agreed that the action to follow up with LAF for UNRWA staff permission to A’ should be cancelled since no progress observed.

MAA invited CDR to the cluster to give updates on prime areas. Khristophe Petit, the head of management unit, assigned by CDR came to the meeting.

AA invited the PC to the meeting, but they didn’t come. AA will follow up with them to make sure they will attend the next meeting.

LM contacted the LAF for the permissions to A’, but LAF said the permissions are being processed. LM to follow with LAF for the permissions.
